Maggie's Garden Opening Ceremony
Over 100 people attended the opening of Maggie's Garden on Green Lane on Saturday 2nd September. The garden, which you can read about here, transformed a neglected flytipping hotspot into a beautiful public garden.
The ceremony was held on a beautifully hot day and was attended by the Mayor of Croydon Jason Perry, Deputy Civic Mayor Cllr Appu and special guest Sir Trevor McDonald. Cllr Appu gave a beautiful speech and cut the ribbon to official open the garden whilst Mayor Perry said some kind words about the late Maggie Mansell.
Friends of Norbury Park would like to thank everyone involved in Maggie's Garden, including Margaret Woznica for designing the garden and all her hard work in making it a reality, Tom and Edyta, every volunteer who has donated their time and energy, Litter Free Norbury and everybody who turned up to the opening ceremony.
We hope you enjoy the images below and, most of all, visit the garden throughout the year as it becomes a permanent landmark of Norbury.
